  10.    This is free re-release (under GPL) of SysPic 4.00 originally released
  11.    as shareware in September 1996. No functional modifications has been made.
  12.    The full source code is available in util/boot/SysPic400src.lha.

  14.    Here goes the feature list:

  16.    SysPic 4.00                               * - a star feature :-)
  17.  
  18.       o is small & VERY fast! (picture decompression routines written
  19.         in optimized assembly)
  20.  
  21.       o shows IFF-ILBM pictures of any size and resolution,
  22.         supports AGA modes (also HAM8)
  23.  
  24.       * has a flexible script-like language which allows you to display
  25.         configurable text with hard/soft info, also with typewritter and
  26.         shadow effects
  27.  
  28.       * can display a realtime digital clock on the displayed picture
  29.  
  30.       * can fade-in picture and fade-out it to Workbench (with selectable
  31.         rate) - this works in asynchronous manner (i.e no delays) -
  32.         mouse pointer is also faded
  33.  
  34.       * can play IFF-8SVX samples or Protracker modules with volume slide
  35.         synchronized to fade-out
  36.  
  37.       o centers picture both horizontally & *vertically*
  38.  
  39.       o centers the mouse pointer when exits
  40.  
  41.       * has a very powerful random selector - an option assures that
  42.         a picture won't show twice until all pictures are shown
  43.  
  44.       o forces Workbench to open behind the displayed picture so it can be
  45.         closed after whole Workbench initialization, also works with
  46.         the Directory Opus 5, the Workbench replacement
  47.  
  48.       o has no problems with MCP 'PubModes' feature
  49.  
  50.       * is iprefs-jump proof - sets overscan prefs before IPrefs will do it!
  51.  
  52.       o picture can be displayed in a desired mode or just promoted to
  53.         specific monitor

  55.       o optionally blanks the pointer sprite so you won't see it when the
  56.         Workbench screen opens (it would look annoying)

  58.       * picture is automatically closed when something goes wrong with
  59.         booting - when a requester pops up on Workbench or so

  61.       o detaches from shell in an intelligent way (i.e after loading
  62.         the picture)

  64.       * DOES NOT fragment the memory!!!
